Frequently Asked Questions
Mathematics and English Language Arts follow the structure and vocabulary of the Common Core State Standards. Science follows the Next Generation Science Standards and its disciplinary core ideas. Social Studies follows the C3 Framework, Computer Science the CSTA K-12 standards, and The Arts the National Core Arts Standards. There is no national US curriculum and Qwizflow claims no official endorsement by any of these bodies — we structure our content on their frameworks, and we do not claim a per-question mapping to individual standards.
Because several of these frameworks are written that way. Common Core is grade-specific through Grade 8 and then sets grades 9-10 as a band; NGSS is grade-specific for Kindergarten to Grade 5, then one band for middle school (6-8) and one for high school (9-12); CSTA uses levels 1A (K-2), 1B (3-5), 2 (6-8) and 3A (9-10); and the C3 Framework sets no national grade-level content at all, because US social studies content is decided state by state. Each topic page is indexed against a single grade so it can be found, and the description names the band it actually belongs to.
No. The two spines are authored separately, because the structures genuinely differ rather than just the labels. Common Core introduces the Pythagorean theorem at Grade 8, which is where the Australian Curriculum v9 puts it too — but NGSS puts light and sound at Grade 1, where v9 Year 1 covers pushes and pulls, and US Science is organised around NGSS disciplinary core ideas where Australian Science is organised around ACARA sub-strands. Each topic here was placed against its own framework.
